Hey y'all! I am kicking off Tuesday with a little style roundup with two of my favorite blogger babes, Julie & Katie! Katie and I are joining Julie for another dose of her Style Files :) Today's Style File-- favorite color. I have always been drawn to every shade of blue, so I couldn't just pick one for today. I think Julie and I might share a brain, because we are both having a blue crush today. Make sure you head on over and take a look at their style file as well!
Well I am sure if you follow me on Instagram then you might have seen my daily updates the excessive amount of pictures I was posting from #sbscon. For those who didn't follow along, the weekend before last I attended the second annual Southern Blog Society Conference! Co-founders Cathy & Jessica out did themselves; they spoiled us rotten! Lets just say we did not go thirsty or hungry. ASOS, Kendra Scott, Dress Up, Dermalogica, and (PLA) Beauty were all in attendance too, treating us to soo many goodies along the way! I am so thankful to have a networking community like the Southern Blog Society. It it the perfect place for us southern bloggers to connect, share resources, and learn from one another. If you're a southern blogger and haven't joined you should get on that. If you're a blogger but don't reside in the south don't you worry, Jessica & Cathy have you covered. SBS will be rolling out regions all over the country coming soon!
Pastel plaid is best served with neutrals. I love a good plaid and I love pastels, but put the two together and it is personally just too much prep for me. Regardless of the preppy feel, I was drawn to this ASOS top (maybe it was the killer sale!). Obviously I scooped it up and haven't looked back! I love how this shirt has a little more character to it than your average plaid, yes I said character. See how one side is predominantly pink, while the other is predominantly yellow? I mean, how cool! I knew I wanted to tone down this preppy little top, so I reached for a oldie but a goodie, this Zara skort. Okay people, the Zara skort had its 5 minutes of fame last summer season, but I am dusting mine off and bringing mine back to life! To top the outfit off I reached for my taupe laser cut bag and blush colored sandals, both of which are subtle and fun enough to compliment the top!
When styling this Riffaff dress I knew I wanted to add something a little laid back, cue utility vest. Actually Madewell has deemed it as their "safari vest", which is only fitting because I looked like I was heading to the safari. I don't know who wears leopard print to the safari, but if I was going to the safari I would definitely wear leopard print. However, for an everyday look I knew I needed some accessories that took this outfit from safari cliche to safari chic. Nothing a little Loren Hope jewels and sky high heels can't fix!
